Q: What is a common misconception or myth about foster care?
A: It’s a common misconception that all children in the foster care system come from the same background or that they all have a similar story. In reality, each family that experiences foster care comes from varying backgrounds, and they all have a unique story.
Q: What professional accomplishment are you most proud of and why?
A: I am most proud of my daughters and being instrumental in their growth, accomplishments, and their life journeys.
Q: Did you have a mentor who impacted your professional life?
A: The person that has impacted my professional journey within the realm of child welfare was my first foster care supervisor, Mrs. Jennifer Vroom.
Q: What is something you wish more people knew about Vista Maria?
A: I wish people knew how hard the case workers work on a daily basis. Their dedication often goes unseen by those outside of Vista Maria. We are truly a 24/7/365 organization, and our caseworkers and other staff dedicate their daily lives to what they do.
